WALK FOR WOMEN & RUN FOR RIGHTS

This semester, for our Issues in Global Communications class, four of us have been researching women's rights and freedom around the world. We especially looked at women in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Brazil, and Africa. It made us all very grateful to be living at this time in this free land. We gave our hour-long presentation on Thursday and then we hosted a 5K Run this morning. All the proceeds went to GlobalFundforWomen.org, a great organization that supports women who live in oppressive countries. The 5K was great! Our teacher even came! He was my former bishop in my single's ward! And thanks, Landon! (He took this picture)

GIRL PARTY

Maggie is one my most favorite people. We met freshman year at the dorms and have lunch dates on Fridays ,cause we both get out of class/work early, which is sweet!

I had never been to J-Dawgs before, which I'm told is a total sin here, (EVERYONE GOES AND LOVES IT) especially considering I'm a junior, but we finally went! And it was actually pretty good!
I pretty much hate hot dogs-they make me gag just looking at them-but I must confess, the special sauce is quite delightful, and the buns are made on the site! SO...I actually enjoyed it and would totally go again!

Before & After

Isn't change entertaining? I've been thinking about how much I've changed since Landon and I got married-or really since we got serious. Maybe you can relate.

Before: I was so excited to see him-I would get all ready and dressed up for our dates.
After: I am so excited to see him-I hop in my sweats as soon as I get home, so we can relax!

Before: The most romantic thing in the world would be flowers or gifts.
After: The most romantic thing in the world is cleaning the house or making dinner.

Before: Friday night meant no matter what else you SHOULD be doing,
you HAD to go out and do something.
After: Friday night means date night which could be a movie on the couch,
cause you're tired! Sure you could get all ready to go and cuddle,
or you could stay where it's warm and cozy and cuddle!

Before: Young couples who held hands were the cutest thing in the world.
After: Elderly couples who hold hands are the cutest thing in the world.

Before: I thought I ate a lot and drank a ton of milk for a girl.
After: I feel like a lightweight-that kid eats a TON!!

Before: I thought Landon really liked chick flicks.
After: Landon really likes football.

Before: Bagel bites or totinos pizza for dinner?
After: Cooking...yes, I do it now. Who would have thought?
Not me! That's for sure!

Before: I loved him more than words could express.
After: I love him even more than that!

Stalker Confessional

So when Landon and I first met, I was a little beyond twiterpated. Landon was really sweet and forward, and it was perfect, because I am definitely not the pursuer type. Anyway, he wrote the sweetest text messages, and I thought they were so cute that I typed them all up! After our first date, I texted him saying that I had a good time and to thank him, and he wrote back, "The pleasure was all mine." I thought it was beyond sweet, so I started this stalker tradition, one that I had never done before, BTW! :) I continued this madness until we got married, so I now have thirty, single-spaced pages of our texts. I was reading through them the other day and became so grateful that I wrote them down! I wrote in my journal about what was going on with us, but we are always texting, so it's just neat to have the exact things that were said during our courtship! I even got a little choked up reading them. It's just neat to have. BUT! How embarressing would it have been to have had 30 pages of stalker texts and then it not work out? AWKWARD!!! PS This is another from picture from the dating years! :)

English

So Landon and I just had our 9 month wedding anniversary! And while I was in my 8AM English class, which is just a little too boring for my taste, I wrote this poem for Landon. Enjoy!!!

A short time ago in a land not far away
A R.M. met a freshman girl-what a beautiful day!
They talked and they laughed; they hugged and they kissed!
The sweet boy was nervous and the first time he missed! (My lips) :)
He was loving and kind and handsome and strong
She fell so in love with him; he could do no wrong!
So what happened next? They decided to wed
In the middle of semester, and their grades were dead!
As a newlywed couple, they had a great time.
The best is yet to come, love as long as you're mine!

PS This picture was taken when we were dating; it's so fun to reminisce
