Julie & Julia

Last night Andrea and I saw Julie & Julia and loved it. It's about two women who use cooking as a way of finding more meaning and direction in their lives. Pretty much every woman can relate in some way to both of these characters. I know I did.
-I totally understood Julie's efforts to work all day and try to be domestic by night. Her efforts to become a domestic diva would sometimes cause her to completely wreck dinner by trying new recipes, but she kept trying (and blogging), which I can obviously relate to.
-Julia Childs is what every woman wants to be: Vivacious, fun, full of life, classy, and a domestic diva. She cooks in heels and pearls. Nuff said.
-Julia has the most beautiful relationship with her husband. They are so in love, and they respect each other so much. Her husband was always her number one fan and cheerleader. He kept telling her she could do anything. He kept saying things that sounded EXACTLY like Landon's pep talks to me. It was precious.
-Julia saw women all around her having children but couldn't have any herself. She kept her chin up and lived life to its fullest instead of dwelling on the things that weren't working out. When she did have the occasional breakdown, her husband dried her tears and kept her optimistic. So been there.
-Julia was always positive and gave her husband the constant praise he deserved. It was adorable.
-Julie & Julia were competitive and driven; they wouldn't be beat, even when all odds were against them. It was very motivational.
Basically, good flick. I'm convinced that every woman can relate somehow. Take your girlfriends or significant other and enjoy.

Oh, the Places We've Gone

We went to my hometown for a week and had a blast with the family! (We giggle a lot)

We went ice blocking, and I went right through the mud!

Throughout the week, we were able to watch Singin' in the Rain, HSM3, Happiest Millionaire, Gilmore Girls, A Walk to Remember, and Jane Eyre (I had just finished reading it, and I liked it)! We painted nails, played soccer, ate the best foods (Curry, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pita Pizza, toffee bars), and did all things girly, it was amazing.

Making s'mores in the backyard

Scott and the goblet of fireI love that he was doing this in his white shirt!

We saw 'Annie Get Your Gun' at Starlight Mountain Theater

The girls were a little tired on the way back.

We went to Big Juds! YUM! No one dared do the 1 lb. burger challenge, but I'm hoping next time we will have someone get their pic on the wall!

My brother Scott is a tough negotiator.
But you don't wanna mess with my sister-in-law Rachel!

So I'm an organizing fanatic. We had another organizing fiesta this weekend, and it was slightly like heaven. It's all about color-coordinating your clothes and the wonder hanger! They make so much space, which is perfect for our little apartment!

I have a condition. Landon will be drinking water, put the cup down, and I will wash it and put it away before he finishes. Basically, I LOVE it when things are organized and in place. So, I had to take pictures of the finished product.

In our room, we just got them, so fun!

Mine down low!So I went yard sale shopping for the first time ever and saw a lot of GROSS stuff. I thought I would never do it again, until...I saw ALL THIS SCRAPBOOKING stuff! I got 30 pages of paper, 6 things of stickers, and this notebook of paper for 2 bucks! And this scrapbook idea book for another 2 bucks! GREAT DAY!
