Our Dating Story

So Landon and I decided to start a blog telling our dating story! The link is on the top right corner of the blog! Enjoy! isyourname.blogspot.com

One Year Anniversary

Landon and I celebrated our one year anniversary on February 15th. I love that we always have a 3-day weekend to celebrate it with! We spent the weekend in Salt Lake, which was so great and relaxing! Landon gave me these beautiful flowers! What is it about flowers that makes me so happy? I don't know, but I love them! We first went to the Salt Lake Temple (where we were married) which was so sweet.
Then we went to the Garden Restaurant for V-Day, where we went on our honeymoon, too. Then we saw the Utah Youth Philharmonic perform in the Tabernacle. They were GREAT!
We went to check-in at our hotel at Little America, and they said they upgraded us to the Grand America Hotel for Valentine's Day! Woot-woo! The place is INCREDIBLE! So huge!Sunday was our official honeymoon day, so we of course busted out our cake that has been freezing for a year. It was still pretty tasty!

Someone wrote this in the snow in the hotel courtyard! I pretended it was me who had written it for Landon! Haha! We had the most amazing buffet breakfast at Little America-wow! GOOD STUFF! We also went to Kneaders and had their french toast-yum! And then we saw "Confessions of a Shopaholic." Landon was pretty much the only guy in the theatre. He's such a stud! It was a cute one; I totally recommend. Monday night we rented "The Traitor"-Landon thought he had earned an action movie! :) It was really good; we both liked it! So, pretty much the BEST WEEKEND EVER! We also started a blog about our dating years, which is attached to this one! Check it out!

MY MUSINGS

The following things have been on my mind lately:

1.) One year ago we were married! Our anniversary is on Sunday, and we're so excited! Pictures of the celebration will come I'm sure. Anyway, I've been reading through my journal, and this was last year's entry. "This week: Three midterms, two papers, endowment Thursday, wedding Friday, breathe deeply." This week is completely stress-free! I have one midterm in religion! Come on! How does that make sense? I was so overwhelmed this time last year but the wedding was the least of my worries! I just wanted to pass my tests! And then this year-nothing! Oh, life is so silly! :)

2.) I love Dr. Cutty (House) and Lorelai Gilmore (Gilmore Girls)-yes, they are great actresses, but more importantly, they embrace their crazy, thick, and curly hair! Everyone on TV these days has sleek, smooth, and silky hair. It makes me sick! It takes me forever to straighten my hair, and then it will slowly, through the day, start getting bushy, frizzy, and curly! It's ridiculous. When I watch House or Gilmore Girls, I smile knowing I am not alone! :)

3.) I need to add something to my favorite things. FLOSS-UPS! I've been trying to be a better flosser, and these floss-ups make flossing so much easier! And the pick makes you feel so much cleaner! It's AMAZING! Try it; you'll like it!

As you can see, I'm not the deep thoughts type, but thanks for indulging me. :)

THE SCOTTIES

Landon is playing on the ward intramural basketball team!
This is what they did when I told them to smile. It was after the game; they were tired! :) It cracks me up that there is such a big gap between them like they're afraid to touch or something!

They've named themselves the Scotties after our Bishop, whose name is Scott! :)

The devoted fans! We are in the middle of making matching t-shirts! In my LDS Marriage & Family class, we learned that men bond by doing physical activities together and women bond by talking. So, he plays, I bond, and we all win! :)

I have already become the crazy camera lady whose flash blinds all the players. Oh well, it was fun! :)

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

Just because Oprah has billions, doesn't mean she has a monopoly on favorite things. She totally stole it from my girl Julie Andrews! What pipes! The Sound of Music is the best! Anyway, shopping kind of drives me crazy and almost all of the things listed were gifts, but these are things that once you have, you cannot live without!

1.) Flash drive: Landon got me one for Christmas; I told him I didn't need one, but now I use it DAILY. It's wonderful, and if I had my own show, and you were in the audience, I would give you one for free!
2.) Michael Buble CDs: The man is amazing. He has a song for every mood. I never liked the song "You Were Always On My Mind," because he lists all the junk he's pulled, and tries to apologize by saying, "But you were always on my mind!" LAME! But, his version is so sincere and beautiful; I would totally forgive him.
3.) Victoria's Secret bras: they are amazing, there is SUCH A DIFFERENCE! Try one, and you'll never go back. I love bras; I would totally take a closet full. Might I suggest the Very Sexy bra or Angels bra for your first time. Wow, heaven. I totally love how they name everything, too. And the fragrances: Love Spell, Pure Seduction, hilarious!
4.) Rice cookers: it cooks for you and then keeps it warm until you're ready to use it! Amazing!
5.) Gilmore Girls: I got seasons 4 and 7 for Christmas and have already finished them both. It's my absolute favorite indulgence. You can put an episode on when you're cleaning, doing laundry, scrapbooking, whatever! It's all right there!
6.) Under Armour: I want to BATHE in it. It's amazing! I've heard they make it in sock-form! It feels amazing on the skin, and I love it!
7.) Scrapbooks: I know everyone is going digital, and that's fine, but there is something about the cutting, pasting, finding the right picture, finding the right quote, and finding the right scraps that is SO FUN. I don't care if digital is easier, cooler, faster, or better-looking, I like it old school.
8.) My wedding ring: Landon picked it out for me, and it is my absolute most prized possession. I stare at it all the time and am so beyond emotionally attached.
9.) My wedding dress: We got married in February, and it was freezing, but I just couldn't put the coat on! The coat was beautiful too, but I wanted the pictures of my dress! My arms were turning slightly purple, but I'm so glad I did it! The dress was so different than what I had thought I wanted, but it was the first one I tried on, and I loved it. (I tried on other ones, too, but nothing compared.)
10.) Dishwashers: You don't know how much you love them until you don't have one. I remember my mom telling me that they didn't have one when she was growing up, and I was so confused as to how the dishes were cleaned! Now I know: Two hands. Some people dream of a home; I dream of a dishwasher!
11.) Boots: So cute, so warm, so essential, but mainly cute! I LOVE THEM!

BWAHAHAHAHA

Ya gotta love professors. So nerdy, so brilliant, so hilarious! I have some totally sweet professors that completely crack me up. Here are some of my favorite quotes from professors thus far:
-"Writing is sheer and utter pain. It's like having a friend beat you in the stomach with a baseball bat."-My Creative Concepts professor
-"Text messaging is destroying the English language".-My English professor, completely serious
-"If a person has a bad idea, don't tell them it's good. Don't string them along like you did that guy in high school!"-My Creative Concepts professor
-"Now THIS is where it gets complicated"-A rocket scientist that was explaining Global Warming. He said this near the end of his lecture. Pretty sure, the whole lecture was complicated, not just the ending! :)
