Fourth of July Family Reunion

Every year for the Fourth of July, my mom's side of the family gets together in this tiny little town in Wyoming where she grew up (Seriously, no stoplights, ONE main street) for the best family reunion EVER!

We always go to the town's mud volleyball tournament and this year we had a family 5K Run which was a blast! The air is so clean there and the scenery is gorgeous! Perfect for running!

Our team

My sister and I at the rancher's rodeo!

They had events like doctoring a calf, loading a trailer, riding on a horse with groceries, milking a wild cow, it was amazing but pretty scary! Those animals were out of control!

My two cute cousins went down there to try and catch a calf! Except they were huge! They did such a good job!

We had the sweetest backyard fireworks show! Wyoming=no illegal fireworks! It was sweet!

There were 36 of us in my grandparents' house. There were people sleeping all over the house, plus 3 hotel rooms, plus 2 tents outside. Landon and I were in a tent, in the rain, with loud fireworks exploding outside, but it was SO fun!

The milk can dinner can feed us all and is SOOO DELICIOUS!
You put potatoes, corn, onions, ham, and/or sausage in a milk can. Top it with cabbage, pour water over it, and heat it up until it's done. It ROCKS.

I don't know this guy, but it was the perfect Americana Kodak moment!

My adorable cousins watching the parade

"A parade so nice you see it twice!" It goes up one side of the street and down the other and still lasts less than 30 minutes!

BUT-there's always A TON of candy! When we were younger, we used to ride the fire truck and throw candy to people. It was sweet.
The outdoor movie idea died cause it was raining, so we brought it to the basement and watched Enchanted. I LOVE that movie!

The little boys loved Landon. He got attacked all weekend and was totally outnumbered. Bridger would fly through the air to jump on him, while the others would hang on hims arms and legs. When he got the chance, he would grab them under each of his arms, and wrestle until they were ALL exhausted. Good times.

Family Iron Chef Competition-of course Landon's group made a bundt cake!

The winners!
Each team got four ingredients and had to make a masterpiece.

Our team made crepes! YUM!

Amanda jumped out of the car to get the scavenger hunt clues! Too bad the car was still moving! :) She got pretty scraped up!

Our team took second in the scavenger hunt!
Bridger attacked Steve-wedgie and all. The perfect ending to the wedding!

The girls threw a wedding for their stuffed animals!
Natalie caught the bouquet! The perfect ending to a beautiful wedding: Bridger attacked Steven, complete with wedgie. It was the best of entertainment. Basically, I LOVE our reunions. We have so much fun, and we do it in the most beautiful town in the world. Landon is obsessed with the town, too. I think he might love it even more than I do...no, not possible. We love it equally. :)

Good Times

We went to the Bees baseball game!
With these fun people! (Landon's cousins and aunt and lots of their cute kids)

Landon is so cute with kids. It makes me melt.

Can I get a 'woot woot' for cotton candy? Delicious!
Three genersations of Pendletons

My dad was in town for Father's Day!

My sister-in-law is HOT!

My sisters-Mel is looking good :)

The Perfect Father's Day Gift

Shopping for a dude is no easy thing. Landon always tells me how easy it is to shop for him, "I'd love anything from Sportsman's, Cabella's, or Sears." But, the other day when a Sears tool commercial came on, and he said,"That's so cool!" I came up with a plan. I told Landon I wanted a wish list for his life (tools, camping things, and whatever else you get at those stores) of all prices and sizes and such and then I wouldn't feel so totally completely clueless when I went to get him something. (Landon is really really good at giving gifts which is really great, but I am really really bad at the whole gift giving thing, so I tend to worry about what to give him months in advance.) Soo...this last week I was determined to find the perfect Father's Day gift for him.

Landon, my mom, and I were at the mall hitting the Bath and Body Works sale (Marriage is great-you can ask the guy what he thinks smells good! No guessing!) when I suggested he look for shoes he had been wanting, and us girls were going to try to find some shorts. He didn't suspect a thing. We raced to the Sears department with our list in hand. Neither of us knew what ANY of the tools were and of course they were pretty understaffed that day. We were in a rush, running up and down the aisles laughing like little girls trying to find-the perfect gift.
*It kind of looks like this but cooler :)*

To make things worse, the people with Sears badges we did ask for help weren't the 'tool experts.' They kept telling us to ask someone else and someone else. They finally had to radio someone in to help us, but while we were waiting, our knight in shining armor (A male customer buying some kind of tool) said, "Did you say you were looking for a triangle straight edge?" (I think that's what it was called). "It's right over there." Perfect timing considering Landon had just texted me asking where we should meet. We grabbed the thing that was in the section he pointed to. We ran out to double check it was the right thing. He gave us the thumbs up seal of approval, and we thanked him profusely. I do know one thing about Landon and tools: It's all about Craftsman. So we bought it, threw it in my mom's bag, and ran out looking cool and stealthy. The best part of our little adventure: He loved it! And now he's all pumped to go build something. He's talking about making a crib with his dad which would be so fun. (Don't get excited. We're not pregnant-just for the future). He even had to bring the tool to show his dad, because he was so excited about it and couldn't believe I had actually bought something from Sears for him. Basically, I'm beyond relieved we survived the ordeal. But his birthday is in a month...don don don.

Summer Goals

Finals for spring term are over, and I'm not taking summer classes! Hooray! So, I've created some summer goals, because free time scares me...seriously. I only took a spring class, because I didn't know what I'd do with myself if I didn't have homework! Anyway, there are kind of a lot of them, and I'm a little worried about not finishing them all, and yet, without homework-I feel like I'll have all the time in the world! It goes like so:

Become Domestic.
-Make homemade rolls
-Make a table runner
-Become an expert freezer meal chica
-Make a baby blanket (No, we're still not pregnant :(, just thinking ahead)
-Keep the garden alive
-Memo: Isn't June Cleaver the epitome of class? Someday when I'm REALLY cool I'm going to make dinner in a classic dress and heels. It's kind of my dream in life, even if I only do it once and take a picture :)

Read.
-The 3rd Twilight-eveyone says I HAVE to do it! :)
-Standing for Something-Pres. Hinckley
-Get a Financial Life
-I need help here-recommendations appreciated!
Improve.
-Run four times a week.
-Practice piano, especially hymns
-Practice voice
-Lift three times a week-I want to get that sweet defined line in my arms, yeah, right now I can't lift ANYTHING and even doors have been too heavy, so I'm going to get buff lol

Party.
-Hit up all the local adventures-this is where I need help. If there are any events (Town Days, Swiss Days, hole-in-the-wall cool places), let me know! I feel like there's a lot to do here, but I just don't know about it!
-Find a live jazz place. In high school, we went to this place called the Library Coffeehouse, sat in comfy couches, ate the tasty food (not the coffee :)), and listened to GREAT live jazz. I miss it! If you know of a place that has good live music, especially jazz, let me know!

*If you have any good summer goals, let me know! I REALLY want ideas!*

So, Funny Story

I was looking through my old friend's facebook pictures, and I noticed two people in the background. Yeah, that's Landon and I when we were dating freshman year!

Pretty sure we spent a lot of time in the lobby of that dorm (Boys couldn't come to our rooms except during specific 'visiting hours' twice a week). I just died laughing when I saw these beauties. Best of times.

EFY!

We dropped off my little sis and her friend at EFY! They brought a duffel bag full of candy but forgot cameras and jackets, silly girls! No worries, we hooked them up.

The night before, we had a sleepover full of fondue, Gilmore girls, and staying up until the wee hours of the morning. I was totally late for work the next day, but it was SO WORTH IT! :) Also, Budge totally did my hair that morning! Thanks, girl!
