EFY!

We dropped off my little sis and her friend at EFY! They brought a duffel bag full of candy but forgot cameras and jackets, silly girls! No worries, we hooked them up.

The night before, we had a sleepover full of fondue, Gilmore girls, and staying up until the wee hours of the morning. I was totally late for work the next day, but it was SO WORTH IT! :) Also, Budge totally did my hair that morning! Thanks, girl!

Janelle's Graduation Weekend!

Janelle graduated from high school!! We had so much fun at home over the weekend, and I'm so excited for her to move here in a few weeks! I'll have a running buddy! :)

Three generations of smiles!

Grandparents!

Party with the high school posse (and husbands) :)

Melanie rocked it up at her soccer game! Pretty sure I would give my right arm to play again!

This pretty much sums out my thoughts on camping.

Happy Memorial Day

This picture means a lot to my family. (Left to right) My Great-Grandpa (WWII), Great Uncle (WWI), my Grandpa Sorensen (Korea), Great Uncle Mark (Vietnam) (Great uncle Robert, not in pic, deceased, Italy, WWII) God bless America and our troops!

Man vs. Wild

We went camping, and it all started out so great. We got in Thursday night, and we (Landon) set up camp as I enjoyed this beautiful view.
It was cloudy, so we thought we would go on a short, 30 minute ride in the boat. The boys stopped to fish, and I read my book for class. When we tried to start it up again, it wouldn't start up. Yup, we were stranded in the middle of the lake. So, the boys rowed us back to shore. Here's Landon pulling us in the last way.

Landon's dad headed for the nearest town to get a boat battery since ours had died. We decided we would just head back to camp...but to do that we had to scale this mountain.
Landon did it first to see if we could all make it (Landon's sister was in flip flops). There he is at the top.
Deciding if we can make it...hmmm...pretty sure all I could think about was that I wished I had watched those survivor shows with Landon so that I would know how to fix our little predicament!

The stranded boat looked so sad and lonely.
We decided it was too high to hike, so we hung out in the boat while the guys went to the nearest town to get the battery. When they got back, the boat STILL didn't work. Landon's dad found a guy to tow us back to shore. Our 30 minute ride turned into a 4 hour fiesta, and I'm burned to a crisp.

We got back, and our tent looked like this. (I'm holding the tent down in the rain and took this picture as Landon went to get the stakes), good times. We nailed it down and tried to sleep through the winds and the rains...it went something like this, "Landon, are you awake?" "Oh yeah." "Landon, are you awake?" "You know it." "Landon..." "Yup."

Highlight: We ate really well. Granted, because of the weather, we ate in our car, but it was still yummy. Also, I finished my book for class! An extra four hours will do that to ya I guess! We left early Saturday morning, and I learned why people don't like camping. Such an important lesson to learn! :)

The Hair Says It All

Landon and I have different schedules in the morning, so we rarely get ready together like we used to (he works early, and I go for my run early), but the other day he totally guessed how my morning had gone-by my hair. I'm not sure if it's cause I'm just that predictable, or if he knows me REALLY WELL. Either way, he was explaining to me what my different hairstyles said about my morning, and he was RIGHT ON. Here's the synopsis:
Half up curly: My hair just wasn't working, and I'm running out of time and patience. Throw some bobby pins in it and run.

Half up straight: I straightened it the day before, and it curled overnight...grrr.

Ponytail: Running late, usually means I slept in and had no time to wash the hair

Straight hair: Feeling like I should spice up my life and had a little extra time in the morning. I always have to prepare for a straight hair day, cause it takes a good while, and my hand is always sore afterward. The good news is that it also means I don't have to wash it the next day, so I think of it as an investment! :)

Curly: Regular, no frills morning, the curlier it is, the more time I had to scrunch it! Basically, the man is good.
