The Life and Times

1. We went to the Jazz Game, and we won! It was great fun! It was my first one! I like to run....and play in the sun...Haha
2. Landon got a half-tuition scholarship for next year because of his work in the Entrepreneur club. I'm so proud of him!
3. This semester, my capstone class has been dedicated to a national advertising campaign competition, and our client has been State Farm. Well, on Friday, my team won our school competition which means we get to go to regionals! I'm excited, our team worked hard, and I'm proud of the result, but regionals are the same day as graduation. So, I graciously offered to NOT to go. :) My hope is this I can be done with the project which will give me more hours in the week to work and do my other classes, oh yeah, and graduate. It should work out very well!
4. Andrea and I spent a super fun day yesterday running around town redeeming our coupons for free stuff for our birthday. We got free Cold Stone ice cream and a free smoothie. Her Relief Society activity fed us Cafe Rio for lunch, so we were too full to redeem our Red Robin burger coupon, but we will just have to extend that to another day lol, life is hard.
5. We got a beautiful 100-year-old antique kitchen table and 4 chairs for 50 bucks! I don't think the sellers knew what they were getting rid of! It's sweet!
6. I love my life.

Spontaneous, Party of 3!

Last Saturday morning, Landon, my sister Janelle, and I went to my cousin's baptism in Kaysville. While enjoying lunch afterward, my aunt mentioned that we were only 4 hours away from Boise. I didn't realize we were already an hour and a half on our way! It was my dad's birthday, so we had the perfect plan: GO TO BOISE! There was little time for deliberation. We didn't have any luggage, but we didn't care! We drove!

We let my sister who lives at home in on the secret so that she could make sure the parents were home at 5. She called us panicked at 4 saying that they were going to the temple. In the middle of our panic, our car started puttering. We pulled over to the side of the road as the car died. Landon pulled out our emergency jumper cables but to no avail. Spontaneity decided to bite us in the be-hind. Melanie gave us the number to the temple, and we called. By some miracle, my parents were just going past the recommend desk as we were calling. We told my dad we were 45 minutes away, and he left to save the day.

The tow truck man was very kind, and Landon fell in love with yet another small town, Mountain Home. My dad met us at the repair shop and everything was right again. Because the repair shop was closed over the weekend, our quick trip became a bit of an extended stay, and considering we had packed absolutely no luggage, that was rather amusing. We had so much fun though! We successfully surprised my dad on his birthday and got to relax with the fam for several days. We got to meet with Elder Nattress of the Seventy who was doing some training with my dad on Sunday. We had tests and homework the next week, but since we didn't bring any homework, we've just been able to relax and have fun together. SO GREAT! Turns out it was just the fuel filter, so the repair was pretty inexpensive, which is fabulous. On the way back, our windshield wipers decided to stop working, so driving through the snow and rain storm was slightly terrifying, but it was SO WORTH IT! It was a great weekend!!! SPONTANEITY ROCKS!!

Is There Life After Graduation?

YES! (At least I hope so, because I GRADUATE IN APRIL!!!) I'm so excited, and I'm slightly terrified wondering what I'm going to do with myself! For the past 2+ years, Landon and I have gone to school and work all day and then studied all evening. Now, I'm going to work all day and when I come home, he'll be studying all evening. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? I have a couple ideas, but I need more, so if you have any suggestions, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

1.) New Hobbies to Try:
-Cake Decorating: There's a class, and I'm taking it! Anyone want to join me? :)
-Gardening: Hopefully this one will turn out better than last year's!
-Painting: I've never tried it before, but I really really want to, so I might take a class.
-Canning: I'm going to learn how!

2.) Read:
-I've made a list of classics that I want to read, but I need suggestions! All genres! Anything about European or world history? I especially love that stuff.

3.) Spend more time on my favorite hobbies: Scrapbooking, singing, running, and playing piano

4.) Also, my house is going to be SO CLEAN! I kind of get giddy about cleaning and organizing. Right now, I make time for it but only because I'm slightly OCD, but come April, I'm going to have the luxury of spending a TON of obsessive time on it. I'm talkin labeling and plastic binning! Straight up organized heaven! HOO-RAH!

5.) Any other brilliant plans for me? (Please don't suggest sewing. I tried it, and I failed.) But all other suggestions would be MUCH APPRECIATED!

Update

-I've started my new job, and I love it! My boss asked me to start working 30 hours a week, and I was crazy enough to say yes. I've been working 24 hours a week and doing school full-time. I'm sure 6 more hours won't be too crazy...right? :) (I'll work 40 after graduation).
-I graduate in April!!! Everyone is invited! I'm pretty pumped.
-I'm playing on two AMAZING intramural soccer teams: Girl's b-ball and co-ed soccer, tournament is coming up. It'll be SWEET!
-Spring is HERE (In my heart, so I put up my spring wreath), and I'm pumped.
-The Bachelor is over, so I need a new guilty pleasure, any ideas?
-Landon has started P90X, and he has never been so sore. I'm proud of him.
-Life is good.

So Much to Celebrate!!!

This weekend Landon and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary, our third year of being together, and our fourth Valentine's Day together! We had a blast! Landon is a sweetheart and got me these beautiful roses! On Saturday night, we went to the Purcell's house and celebrated with our good friends and where our wonderful husbands made us dinner! Ribs, potatoes, salad, and dessert, yup, they're good!

On Monday, we had a "Day Date." We went to Kneaders for breakfast, saw "When In Rome" (Cute, cheesy, but cute), and decided to finally use the last of our gift cards from our wedding! (Thank you to the insanely generous people who have kept us busy shopping for the past two years). That afternoon, we shopped at the mall and went to go to Ottavio's for dinner. (We went there the night that Landon proposed). Much to our dismay, it's CLOSED! We felt so bad, because we loved that place, but we went to dinner at a place down the road which was also delicious. Basically, it was wonderful (and Landon looks really tall in this picture). I LOVE YOU, LANDON!!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

SO EXCITED!!!

So I haven't been blogging too much lately, because every spare moment I've had I've been applying for jobs for after I graduate in April. But THIS JUST IN, life is good, because I GOT A JOB!!! I'm going to work as an account planner/marketing manager part-time until I graduate, and then I'll go full-time! The job is exactly what I love to do in my major, so I'm a little beyond giddy! We'll also get to stay in town and in our ward until Landon graduates next year!!! AND...we'll be moving to a much better apartment just down the road from us that's about the same price!!! Have I mentioned I'm SO EXCITED???

Priceless!!!
