Gender Stereotype Day

This Saturday I enlisted the help of Landon's mom to teach me to make table runners and homemade rolls to accomplish some of my summer goals. We spent the day finding fabric, sewing, and baking. It was great fun. I haven't touched a sewing machine since the the hedgehog incident in Home Ec seven years ago, so this was an auspicious moment for me. It was a great reminder that I really don't like to sew, but I really enjoy the final product!

The boys spent the day building things, going to Sportsman's Warehouse, golfing, etc. It was really fun! Thanks again for teaching me your skills, Lori!
And, side note: I've finished lots of my summer goals so far. I read the Standing for Something and Eclipse. The garden is still alive (We just got a pepper, some strawberries, and tomatoes). I've been going running with my sister, and we went and saw some live jazz in this beautiful garden. It was perfect. Hopefully I can finish some more of these things before school starts again in the fall! Wahoo!

Your table runner looks sooo cute! Thanks for wanting to spend a girls day together. I'm getting itchy to go back shopping and get some things to decorate the bathroom. Maybe we can do that next! Love you!

I made a hedge hog in home ec in middle school too! Although I would dare say that the pajama pants were the worst part of the class! I don't know anyone who made some that actuall fit themselves!
