FAQ

*How do you say your last name?
-Liz-un-bee

(One of two responses:)
*I've never heard of THAT one before! OR...
*Are you related to a...
-The answer to this is always yes. If there's another Lisonbee around, especially in the Utah area, I can pretty much guarantee there's a relation. I mean, how many Lisonbees do YOU know?

*Where does that name come from?
-We have no idea. It just showed up in America one day, but don't worry, lots of people are trying to figure it out. (People usually try to guess at this point. I've heard French, Irish, German, basically everything. Good times).

Having a unique name is entertainment for hours. People say it wrong all the time, ask if they said it right, and I just say yes. It's all good. I know, it's a trick. I will say it's quite entertaining that most of the ladies who married into the Lisonbee name have very normal maiden names. I mean, mine is Miller, there is also Smith, Young, Nelson, etc. etc. I think once the Lisonbee fellas hear a normal last name, they decide to pounce. I should also mention that the women whose maiden name is Lisonbee married into names like Stone and Brown. I love it.

Sounds familiar! How many Bucher's do you know and even I admit I thought it pronounced "Butcher" when I was first dating Todd until I heard him say it and then i was shocked! It's always fun to hear what people will say next though!

My family is the exact opposite!... My sister and I ditched Goostrey as fast as we could for the most normal names we could find: Brady and Bates. Growing up with a strange name is tough and I think you either embrace it or run from it. I took the more easily pronounced option. Your daughters will probably seek out some Smiths or Browns and live happily ever after. It's the circle of life I guess. I blame men.

My story is the exact opposite. My maiden name is Leithead (Leeth-head), so I was more than happy to marry an Everett. I feel your pain. BE PROUD! But, I don't really think Lisonbee is hard to pronouce, you just sound it out. People are wierd.

I completely understand, although I don't have a problem with my last name (maiden or current). Tari is the kicker. And I'm glad you posted how to say your last name, because I've never heard it pronounced, but I've been saying it right! Yay me! :)

Haha I love it! My name is last name is different and everyone calls me Dottie! But it's kinda nice becauase if you get a call and they ask for Mr. or Mrs. Dottie you know that they dont know you and are either (A) new in the ward and we haven't met yet or (B) teller marketers and I can hang up right away, mostly because the ward calls us Brother or Sister ahaha well with the teller marketers I listen first to see what they need/want hahaha
