I Go Back...

I've been gettin bored with my usual playlist, so I've been listening to the "classics" lately, and all these old memories came back.

*Carrie Underwood's first CD makes me flashback to driving home from my evening shift at TCBY in the summer at midnight. I was convinced "Don't Forget to Remember Me" was written for me, as we were about to graduate.

*"Ain't No Mountain High Enough"-we had some of the best rock-out sessions-ever on the school bus heading to our basketball games with Alli and Shelby. We had some serious belting skills. I think our coach went absolutely crazy, but we had fun!

*"Earl Had to Die" by Dixie Chicks makes me think of the amazing girl party we had at Whitney's where we sang it till we were blue in the face. I will always love that song.

*"You Drive Me Crazy" by Britney Spears-oh, the countless hours we spent learning the dance from Daren's Dance Grooves the DVD. I bet I could still do it.

*"Why Not?" by Hilary Duff makes me think of driving crazy with the windows down leaving soccer practice and thinking life couldn't get any better. Ahhh, best song ever.

*B-Witched CD: How many dances did my sisters and I make up to this one? I don't even know, but I remember the moves every time I hear the songs!

*"I Need a Hero": Andrea and I made up the most amazingly ridiculous dance to this song, complete with silver, flashy Elvis costumes. We performed it at the school talent show and later at the ward talent show. Our hair was bigger than I ever thought possible and the makeup was just scary. Too bad I don't have the picture on this computer. Girl-do you still have those outfits? I think we should have a reunion of the amazingness!

*"Hey Juliet"-the classic rock out song in my car. Levi and I knew all the words and could bust it out like it was nobody's business. Amazing. I think I should quit school and follow my true passion and become a professional karaoke singer! :)

*"When You Say Nothing at All"-my friend Scott telling me that this was the most mean song ever. Quote, "She's just saying she wants him to shut up! Harsh!" I love the song and try to block that comment out of my mind.
*All Taylor Swift songs remind me of when Landon and I were dating. He gave me her first CD for my birthday, and I listened to it CONSTANTLY.

"I Hope You Dance"-I sang the song and my brother played it on the guitar in the back of a truck that pulled up in front of Samantha's house, so he could ask her to homecoming. It was precious.

*"On My Own" from Les Mis was my first big solo. I had sung solos when I was little, but I sang this in front of my entire middle school in the 7th grade. I was shaking so bad it was ridiculous, but I somehow survived. I get butterflies just thinking about it.

*"Barbie Girl"-one incredible music video made by the lovely ladies in my freshman dorm at 3AM. Priceless.

*"Everytime We Touch"-late night dance parties that changed my life forever-both freshman and sophomore year. You can't help but jump up and down when you hear that song.

Music makes me happy. Thanks for letting me reminisce.

Family Home Evening

When there's just two of you, FHE is rather hilarious. We try to make it different than every other evening we spend together, but sometimes we have to get creative. Yesterday we got free coupons to Chick-fil-A for two free chicken sandwiches. Naturally, we jumped at the opportunity to not cook, waited in a forever-long line, and then they told us they ran out, but we can have chicken nuggets. I had just gotten out of my Consumer Behavior class where we learned that such practices are called the 'bait and switch.' If it wasn't totally free, I would have called them out on it. They do have some interesting business practices that I read about while waiting. The CEO cooks dinner for all new store managers at her house, and they call all of us 'guests.' "I can help the next guest." It makes you feel like you're in Disneyland. Poor Landon has to hear be critique businesses all the time...anyway, we got free food, so we were happy. :)

Then, like every Monday night, we watched '24,' because it's AMAZING! And I'm SO ADDICTED! I can't believe the season ends next week! :(

Lastly, and most importantly, we planted our garden. Landon gave me all the plants and pots for Mother's Day. It was so sweet. It made the day so much better, and I've been talking about gardening for a while. We officially have strawberries, peas, peppers, and tomatoes! I like oh-so-totally have like the biggest crush on him-ever. Also, check out the lastest update on isyourname.blogspot.com!

If You Wanna Laugh for Hours...Check This Out!

Basically, this blog is hilarious. We've been laughing about it at work all day long, so if you want to laugh, and I'm not talking about a giggle, I'm talking about a full-on, belly-jiggling laugh, read this blog. It's GLORIOUS.

Least. Favorite. Ever.

Getting my haircut is the bane of my existence. Top nine reasons why.

1.) Time. No time to get it done.
2.) Money. Spending the money to get it done is so annoying.
3.) Straight or curly. How do I wear my hair when I get it done? Each hair stylist has their own opinion, and I feel like I do it the wrong way each time I get it done.
4.) Style. I feel like I can get a haircut that is cute if I always do it straight or if I always do it curly but rarely both. Even though it's curly 90% of the time, I like to spice up my life every once in a while!
5.) Small Talk. Is it more awkward to ask them personal details about their life or sit in silence? I definitely ask questions but try to avoid answering any myself.
6.) Getting ready. Do I get ready and go, do I wake up and go, do I shower and go with my hair wet? Sometimes I go for a run, see there's no line, and get it done when I'm all gross. I don't think they like that very much.
7.) Mirror. Whose idea is this? It would be stellar if they turn me around, so I don't have to stare at myself the whole time, especially since they look gorgeous, and I usually just wake up and go over there.
8.) Tip. How much do you tip? And what's the basis of the tip? How fast they were? How talkative they were? If you like the haircut? It's all so subjective. I think I always over-tip, cause I don't know what to do, or maybe I under-tip! I don't even know
9.) How often. I haven't cut my hair since Christmas. Is it about time? :) Probably.
