FAQ

*How do you say your last name?
-Liz-un-bee

(One of two responses:)
*I've never heard of THAT one before! OR...
*Are you related to a...
-The answer to this is always yes. If there's another Lisonbee around, especially in the Utah area, I can pretty much guarantee there's a relation. I mean, how many Lisonbees do YOU know?

*Where does that name come from?
-We have no idea. It just showed up in America one day, but don't worry, lots of people are trying to figure it out. (People usually try to guess at this point. I've heard French, Irish, German, basically everything. Good times).

Having a unique name is entertainment for hours. People say it wrong all the time, ask if they said it right, and I just say yes. It's all good. I know, it's a trick. I will say it's quite entertaining that most of the ladies who married into the Lisonbee name have very normal maiden names. I mean, mine is Miller, there is also Smith, Young, Nelson, etc. etc. I think once the Lisonbee fellas hear a normal last name, they decide to pounce. I should also mention that the women whose maiden name is Lisonbee married into names like Stone and Brown. I love it.

Conference Weekend

My family came down for Conference weekend, and we had a blast!
Saturday night was girl's night out with my sisters, mom, aunts, and cousins
Rachel ate a meatball that was as big as her face...And we got creative with our take home boxes, which Janelle likes! :)
Conference was wonderful, and it was nice to spend so much time with both of our families!

Weekend of Awesome

So Tuesday night Landon suggested we have a weekend retreat to Park City after we had had a crazy day. It was pretty much the best idea ever. The sunset was so pretty and Main Street is just cute.
Bear hug
I was way confused by all the dressed up moose there.

And I'm officially a fan of Expedia.com, because we got this way cute hotel for cheap! My mom later told me she and my dad stayed at that hotel on their honeymoon! Weird!

On Saturday, we went to the Brad Paisley concert, and my hat was either in my eyes,

or way too high on my head.
Jimmy Wayne and Dierks Bentley also represented.
Sweet pic, huh?

And we got to party with all these fun people.

My sister rocks.

Landon is the STUFF

For example, in the last 24 hours, he has:
-Made me dinner
-Got me breakfast
-Picked out clothes for me to wear when I was running late
-Planned a weekend getaway to Park City
-Given me a massage
-And possibly most importantly, caught me when I passed out this morning (And thereby avoiding yet another face plant resulting in stitches and a root canal). He is the STUFF.

Disclaimer: It is NOT uncommon for me to pass out. The doctor says I don't get enough salt and has recommended potato chips-not even kidding, best doctor ever. (So don't get any funny ideas lol).

School is Cool

Favorite quotes from my professors in the first few days of class:

"As you can tell by my physique, I never turn down treats."
"Wow, you look a lot better in person." (Than on the class roll)
"Wow, you look a lot better in this picture."
"I have never met a person from Idaho I didn't like."- (I actually hear that a lot! :))
"Our children would be a lot thinner if I were a stand-up comic"
"If you abuse everyone the same, it's not abuse, it's style."
"I want you all to pay a ton of tithing...you gotta make a lot of money to do that."
"There are three kinds of statisticians, those who can count and those who can't."
"My first class on my first day teaching I was chewing gum, and while making a very exciting point, the gum flew out of my mouth and landed on the forehead of the girl in the front row! And it stuck! What was I supposed to do? Come up and pull it off? If you see me chewing gum, please remind me to spit it out!"

It's going to be a great semester!

Julie & Julia

Last night Andrea and I saw Julie & Julia and loved it. It's about two women who use cooking as a way of finding more meaning and direction in their lives. Pretty much every woman can relate in some way to both of these characters. I know I did.
-I totally understood Julie's efforts to work all day and try to be domestic by night. Her efforts to become a domestic diva would sometimes cause her to completely wreck dinner by trying new recipes, but she kept trying (and blogging), which I can obviously relate to.
-Julia Childs is what every woman wants to be: Vivacious, fun, full of life, classy, and a domestic diva. She cooks in heels and pearls. Nuff said.
-Julia has the most beautiful relationship with her husband. They are so in love, and they respect each other so much. Her husband was always her number one fan and cheerleader. He kept telling her she could do anything. He kept saying things that sounded EXACTLY like Landon's pep talks to me. It was precious.
-Julia saw women all around her having children but couldn't have any herself. She kept her chin up and lived life to its fullest instead of dwelling on the things that weren't working out. When she did have the occasional breakdown, her husband dried her tears and kept her optimistic. So been there.
-Julia was always positive and gave her husband the constant praise he deserved. It was adorable.
-Julie & Julia were competitive and driven; they wouldn't be beat, even when all odds were against them. It was very motivational.
Basically, good flick. I'm convinced that every woman can relate somehow. Take your girlfriends or significant other and enjoy.
